1/8-1/12 Week in Review

Hello Friends,

The word of the week: “Happy”
As we usher in the new year of 2024, our word of the week was "happy," setting a positive tone for our first week back. We were delighted to welcome a new fellow, Memphis, to our cohort.

The week commenced with a spirited pizza-making competition, where our kitchen transformed into a friendly battleground of culinary creativity. Divided into two teams, they concocted three distinct pizzas, each savored and rated on a scale from 1 to 5, culminating in a delightful and joyous experience. The saying "A full stomach makes for a happy heart" rang true.

We had the opportunity to engage in another yoga session guided by Melissa from DYSL studio.Together, we harnessed the collective energy to center our thoughts on the new year, exploring ways to infuse happiness into the upcoming months. The session radiated positive vibes, creating an atmosphere of joy and unity within our community. Here's to embracing the power of positivity as we navigate the rest of the year with renewed energy and a commitment to spreading happiness.

In the spirit of exploration, we ventured to the Ulster County Archives, immersing ourselves in a journey back to the 1890s. The tour and examination of newspapers from that era provided a surreal experience, revealing enduring similarities that link our past to the present. A highlight of the tour included discovering the rich offerings of the archives and laying eyes on a genuine Wampum belt dating back to the 1600s, a breathtaking encounter with history.

As we seamlessly transition back into our programming routine, reconnecting with partners and immersing ourselves in meaningful work, we extend our collective happiness to the entire community. May the week ahead be brimming with joy and positive experiences.
