1/16-1/19 Week in Review

Hello Friends,

The word of the week:“resilient”

As we reflect on the week that unfolded, the word "resilient" resonates profoundly with the spirit of our collective endeavors. In the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy, we found inspiration in the resilience that fueled his tireless efforts for justice and equality.

On Monday, we commemorated Martin Luther King Jr. Day, honoring the enduring impact of a leader who embodied resilience in the face of adversity. Let his legacy continue to inspire us in our commitment to positive change.

Our journey took us to the Hudson River Maritime Museum, where we delved into the timeless craft of woodworking. This age-old practice, resilient through generations, unfolded as we began shaping the boat that will carry the echoes of craftsmanship into the future. The wood, resilient and enduring, holds stories of its own.

In collaboration with Sky High Farm, we welcomed guest educator Lexie Smith to share insights on the art of bread-making. The process of bread-making itself is an embodiment of resilience. The transformation of simple ingredients—flour, water, yeast—into a nourishing and satisfying creation mirrors the ability of cultures to endure and evolve. Witnessing the process and savoring our creation highlighted the resilience embedded in the very essence of human existence.

As we embark on the journey ahead, let the word "resilient" guide our actions and endeavors. Just as wood withstands the test of time and bread sustains us through generations, may our community embody resilience in every step we take.

Wishing you a week filled with strength, perseverance, and the unwavering spirit of resilience.
