Fall has Begun...πŸπŸ‚

The word for the week was: Art This week was filled with creativity, exploration, and vibrant expressions of art in all of its forms. From the creation of our first zine on the Riso with Cosmic Dog, a visit to Kingston Ceramics, an inspiring trip to Art OMI in Ghent, to a captivating conversation with the talented photographer Brenda Ann Kenneally, this week was a true celebration of art.

We started the week for Personal Praxis at Kingston Ceramics for the very first time. Guided by our skilled instructor Grace, we learned the fundamental techniques of wheel-thrown pottery. Our time on the wheel brought out the artist within us. Each of us created a piece of pottery that was uniquely ours.

We adventured to Art OMI for our full day excursion where we enjoyed the serene oasis where nature and art seamlessly merge. The landscape was painted with the vibrant colors of October leaves, providing a breathtaking backdrop to the various outdoor sculptures and installations. It's an experience that beautifully marries the artistic with the natural, and a reminder of the magic that exists in our community.

We ended the week with a conversation with photographer Brenda Ann Kenneally. Her photographs are a vivid reflection of the Troy’s community stories and emotions. Brenda shared her unique insights into her artistic process and the narratives she aims to capture through her lens. Her work is a powerful testament to the people and place. You can view Brenda's work at The Center for Photography at Woodstock: CPW, where her ongoing exhibition is currently open for all to experience.

As we continue to celebrate the beauty of October leaves changing, remember that art is a constant presence in our community. It enriches our lives, tells our stories, and connects us in unique ways. Stay tuned for more exciting art-related updates and immerse yourself in the artistic spirit of our wonderful community.
