Place Corps Friday Digest: Work
It feels as though November has come and gone; sun dusts the ground and a chill remains in the air. Winter has arrived and with its arrival, we prepare for winter intercession moving into different rhythms of being and working.
This past week, the cohort made their way to Maya's homestead for Sophia's self teach class on hog butchery. We learned about the skill and art involved in butchering, and some of the cohort even tried their hand at it. Thank you Sophia! This Saturday, we look forward to celebrating the Place Corps community and reflecting on this past term at the Director's Dinner in Germantown, NY.
Next week is the last week before we break for winter but before we rest, we have a day full of movement. We are looking forward to Luke's Self-Teach on Jiu Jitsu followed by Sandrine's Mindful Movement Workshop. Connor visits us once more to speak about the Story of Place as we prepare to commence our Place Story Projects. With the arrival of next Friday, we will say goodbye for now and see you all in January.
Our word for this week is WORK. What does work mean? What does it mean to be working versus not working? What is NOT work? How have we grown to become identified by our work? How might we imagine ourselves separate from our work? Is all work active? How is work related to knowing? What is good work?
