Place Corps Friday Digest: Gratitude

This past week we completed our work together for our first term, ever! The garden shed and personal practice space have the last nails nailed. The building pods deserve standing ovations for their beautiful designs, hard work, and resourcefulness of materials. We had the joy of welcoming Connor Stedman back to campus for a final touchpoint and conversation about ritualizing our return to home. We completed our Ecoductions learning more about our places and each other as we shared the intimate memories of our historical geographies. We moved with Sandrine for a final somatics workshop where we learned about trauma resiliency and PRONKING!

Next week campus will be quite with the exception of Luke and Sophia continuing their independent study work, ie. hunting! We are very excited to learn about their experience and are taking bets on whether or not we will come back to campus with another hide being stretched and an additional freezer full of deer.

Our word for the week is GRATITUDE. We began our program with a workshop on Gratitude as a pathway forward, a pathway towards joy, a pathway to wholeness, a pathway through hardship, and a path of learning. We are feeling tremendous gratitude to all beings who have contributed to the success of our first semester. We extend our gratitude through history to our ancestors who helped us be here now and to the early people of this land who first cared for her. We extend our gratitude to the Hawthorne Valley Community who have held us as we began our journey here. We extend our gratitude to all guest educators, speakers, and hosts who shared knowledge and experience with us. We extend our gratitude to all Place Corps Team members who have given their full hearts to the cohorts learning. We extend our gratitude to the cohort for unfettered determination and their open heart learning. We extend our gratitude to the founders and funders who have helped make this program possible. Lastly, we extend our gratitude to all visible and invisible living beings who continue to nourish us.

To Know. To Love. To Serve.

"This moment contains the fullness of all moments. Nothing else is needed."
