3/18-3/22 Week in Review

Hello Friends,

Word of the week: “Anger”

Happy Spring, Place Corps community! This week, we delved into the realm of emotions, focusing on the powerful feeling of anger. In a world filled with various sources of frustration, anger is a natural response that often carries negative connotations. However, we explored the idea that anger can be channeled into positive outcomes, such as developing passion and becoming advocates for justice.

At Place Corps, we believe in constructive ways of processing anger and taking meaningful actions. One of the activities we engaged in this week was a therapeutic session at Kingston Ceramics, where we worked with clay. This artistic endeavor not only provided a calming experience but also allowed us to connect with nature and bask in the sunshine.

Another productive task we tackled was at the Hudson River Maritime Museum, where we focused on clamping, gluing parts of a boat, sanding, and mixing epoxy. These hands-on activities served as therapeutic outlets, helping us channel any lingering anger into productive tasks.

Looking ahead, our fellows will be taking a well-deserved spring break next week. We emphasize the importance of breaks and rest as part of self-care and maintaining mental well-being.

As you navigate your own emotions, we encourage you to consider our tips and tricks for releasing anger in healthy ways. Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead filled with positivity and resilience!

Have a good weekend,

Place Corps Team
