Creative Praxis

Creative Praxis: Fellows learn to use research and creative practice to explore concepts, experiences, and artifacts which help them understand and connect to themselves and others.

What this means: Exploring, finding, and practicing forms of making and creativity that help you connect with yourself and the world around you.

Fellows have the opportunity to explore many forms of creative practice during the fellowship, such as…

Ceramics: Fellows explore the world of ceramics at Kingston Ceramics Studio where they learn hand-building and wheel throwing techniques and have access to the studio for the duration of the fellowship, and also have access to classes outside of programming hours.

Photography: At CPW (Center for photography Woodstock), now located in Kingston, fellows learn the art and technique of photography and have access to cameras and photo printing through CPW.

Movement: The Kingston YMCA is an excellent resource for fitness and health, and fellows have access to classes and equipment and facilities to exercise throughout the duration of programming.

Printmaking: D.R.A.W.’s Neighborhood Print Studio and Cosmic Doghouse Press introduce fellows to the world of print making. Fellows have have the opportunity to explore the medium of printmaking and different techniques and tools for making prints and zines.
