11/11-11/15 Week in Review

11/11 - 11/15 WEEK IN REVIEW

Hello Friends,

Word of the week: Choices

This week, we dove into the fascinating world of choices and how they shape our lives! From deciding to turn left or right, we realized how even the smallest choice can set off an unexpected adventure. We chatted about how, on tough days, we have the choice to let grumpy feelings take the wheel—or to hit “refresh” and bring our best selves forward. Every day, our fellows make the choice to show up, and when we’re doing our jobs right, those choices spark growth in their lives, helping them blossom personally and professionally.

In the kitchen, we served up chicken fettuccine alfredo—a three-year Place Corps classic! This meal had everyone swooning, with perfectly cooked pasta and a creamy, dreamy sauce that made each bite feel like a little celebration.

For personal praxis, the fellows picked a day at the YMCA, where they had a variety of choices to get moving—whether lifting weights, cycling, jogging, or shooting hoops. It was the perfect way to let those endorphins fly and boost their health and happiness.

The fellows also rolled up their sleeves with Aurora to finish their zines, each page bursting with unique style and personality. The block prints are vibrant, detailed, and totally one-of-a-kind, showing off each fellow’s creative choices in a colorful splash of design.

And then, in CPW, we transformed our homeroom into a playful wonderland of light painting! With flashlights and laser pointers in hand, we created a flurry of glowing trails, capturing the fun on camera—it was like a kitty playground, lights bouncing everywhere!

As we carry on with the theme of “choices,” let’s remember: every choice, big or small, is a chance to shape our story and sprinkle a bit of magic into the journey.

Have a good weekend,

Place Corps Team
