Mary Grace Campbell (she/her/her’s) is a recent graduate from Bard College where she received a degree in Humanities, the Arts, and Social Thought and focused her studies on the history of dance/movement. Having been in impactful alternative education circles during her own gap year, Mary went on to work at Camp Stomping Ground which centers radical empathy, alternative methods of conflict resolution, and highlights personal autonomy for youth. Being drawn to an ideology which centered choice and communal care Mary learned how to effectively address conflict with young people. Her continued interest in alternative and place based education led her to become an education intern at Hawthorne Valley’s Place Based Learning Center before becoming Place Corps summer/fall project intern. Mary is inspired to foster community by developing spaces to learn new and practical skills together.
More to know about Mary is that she lives in Hudson, NY, and is a baker currently working on the craft of breadmaking. She loves dancing, swimming, and hiking in the Catskill Mountains.
