Resources, Opportunities, and Tools for Exercise and Fitness:
There are numerous ways to exercise at home and at no cost, from doing yoga at home, going for runs, walking, dancing in your bedroom, dancing with friends, weightlifting, cleaning your house, chopping firewood, raking leaves, plowing snow, gardening and so much more.
However, there are many advantages to exercising at fitness centers, through classes and programs, and community centers:
◇ One advantage to exercising at gyms and fitness centers, taking fitness classes,m and joining local sports groups is the opportunity to mix with your community, meet new people, build relationships, and support one another in exercise and beyond.
If you don’t see a fitness group for the kind of activity you want to do, you could also start your own fitness group. The City of Kingston even has an application for you to do this!
Just contact Kingston Parks and Recreation's main office, either by phone (845)-481-7330 or by emailing the Carole Huppert at chuppert@kingston-ny.gov
